GNUnify, an annual technical extravaganza is organized by the students of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR)

GNUnify, the name epitomizes the philosophy behind Free/Open source software, unifying and strengthening the free / open source movement, sharing and spreading knowledge with the help of IT. GNUnify initiated in the year 2003 is an international convergence of open minds. It provides a platform for students and IT professionals, who aspire to unfold their knowledge. Gnunify manifests itself through Techi-talk, install fest, workshops, Q&A panel, programming contest etc.

Various experts share their knowledge and experiences with the delegates over various technical issues and topics. This is a perfect platform for everyone to learn from various Gurus about the latest technologies, discussion on issues related to free/Open Source software and much more.

Install fest aims to provide first hand experience in installation of various flavors of Linux. Various technicalities of installation and configuration are explained in the fest and are always present to solve your problems, eager to help you out.

Workshop as the name describes, is a tutorial or the like, that emphasizes exchange of ideas and the demonstration of techniques and skills, Workshops provide live hands on experience on working with various OPEN/FREE softwares. Its an interactive session in which, both the speaker and the delegates together explore this wonderful and liberal world. Delegates will get training ,on working with various free/open tools, languages ,applications etc.

Show Your Talent is a pathway towards the world of Open Source, bringing in light, the potential within. This event showcases the talents from the student community through various technical/paper presentations which will be judged by an expert panel. This event aims at exploring the potential candidates and providing them a platform to showcase their talents.

Solve Your Quest is a (solution)elucidation for the users to their innumerous queries where a panel of open source intellectuals guides you all through. It is an amalgamation of an open house forum and panel discussions where all the queries of the attendees will be solved by the expert panel.

The origin of every innovation are some thoughts scattered along the way, assembled together and shaped. We ,in Programming Contest here, give you the platform to mould your small and different ideas and get in into records as something really big. Programming contest ,the two day competition provides a direction to your ideas and transforms them into an innovation .

This year, GNUnify will enter in its fifth successful year, spreading the light of the knowledge, the light which cannot be the privileged possession of a few but can be shared by everybody.
